De Groot is set to face Colombian Angelica Bernal, who upset world No.8 Dana Mathewson, and Hewett will take on 50-time major winner Shingo Kunieda, who triumphed over Argentinian Gustavo Fernandez 6-3 6-1. Hewett and Kunieda’s last competitive encounter was in the final of the 2022 US Open, where Hewett clinched his sixth major singles title. See below for a full schedule of matches.

“It’s a great feeling to be here in Miami. I have only been here two days now.  I love the experience.  There is a real vibe obviously around the grounds.  This is obviously the first time wheelchair tennis has been here, and I feel like we have been really welcomed by the event.” Hewett added after his match.
