WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT COURTS?
Stadium Court: Miami Open’s center court located inside Hard Rock Stadium features the top marquee matches each day and seats over 16,000 fans.
Grandstand: The second largest court on campus that seats over 5,000 fans and hosts top talent in a more intimate setting.
Other Competition Courts (Butch Buchholz Family Court and Courts 1-7): Eight additional competition courts on the Miami Open campus that showcase competitive doubles and singles matches throughout the tournament.
Practice Courts (Courts 8-24): Located on the campus, the practice courts offer up close views of player training sessions.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT SESSIONS?
Every day of the tournament, except for the final two days, is divided into two sessions: a Day Session and an Evening Session. Each session includes two to three matches on Stadium Court. On most dates, gates open at 10:00 am for day sessions and 5:00 pm for night sessions.
Finals weekend features just one session per day. On Saturday, March 28th, the session includes Women’s Singles Finals and Men’s Doubles Finals while Sunday, March 29th hosts Women’s Doubles Finals and Men’s Singles Finals.
WHO COMPETES IN THE MIAMI OPEN?
The Miami Open features a 96-player singles draw, meaning 96 men and 96 women compete in the main singles competition. The top 32 seeded players receive a bye in the first round, so Round 1 is made up of unseeded players, including qualifiers and wild cards.
Women’s 1st Round begins on Tuesday, March 17, and Men’s 1st Round begins on Wednesday, March 18, with each round played across two days—one half of the draw competing each day—until the semifinals.
Fans attending the 1st Round will see unseeded players in action, while the 2nd Round brings the debut of the top 32 seeds, who face the winners from the opening round.
