MIAMI, Fla. (www.sonyopentennis.com) – The ATP and WTA entry lists for the 2014 Sony Open were announced today and the tournament will once again feature the greatest players in the world including winners of a combined 80 Grand Slam singles titles.
The 2014 ATP acceptance list includes 13-time Grand Slam champion and current World No. 1 Rafael Nadal, 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer, six-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, two-time Grand Slam champion and defending Sony Open champion Andy Murray, 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro and reigning Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka.
The 2014 women’s field is equally as strong featuring 17-time Grand Slam champion and defending Sony Open champion Serena Williams, four-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova, two-time Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka, reigning Australian Open champion Li Na as well as seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams.

Qualifying rounds will be played March 17-18 and will determine 12 more slots in each singles draw. The tournament will also award wildcards to five men and eight women. The main draw begins on Tuesday, March 18 as the women take the court, followed by the beginning of the men’s main draw on Wednesday, March 19.
